2010
For 2010, our inaugural year, The Grove Trust awarded grants to four local charities. These organisations were chosen for their inspiring work in the area of youth education. For 2010, our members were so impressed by all four shortlisted charities that we decided to divide our total grant funding amongst the finalists. We are very pleased to announce that for 2010 The Grove Trust Grants were awarded to: Dalgarno Neighbourhood Trust A local community centre nased in North Kensington that will use our grant to reinstate a youth project and start a homework club. Partnership for Supplementary Schools An umbrella organisation providing training and support to voluntary run supplementary schools in the neighbourhood. Our grant will be used to employ Maths, Science and English tutors over a two year period. The Video College A small organisation dedicated to teaching youths the art of film making. They work in partnership with local youth clubs, migrants and refugee groups and drug and youth offending teams. Our grant will be used for core costs. Westside School A small school focused on educating 14-16 year olds to GCSE level. These students have disengaged from mainstream education. Our grant will buy much needed IT equipment and fund a drama project with The Gate Theatre. |
